Ama Atelier Amagansett
Tucked away from the world, steps away from the sun-washed, wind-whipped dunes stretching along the Atlantic, this 1980s cottage is part guest house, part gallery, and part atelier of Magdalena and Jonathan Keck. The atelier, rooted in its setting, is an effortless expression of the designer’s essential, minimal approach and affection for art and nature. The space has a sense of impermanence. There is a consideration of emptiness, finding beauty and stillness in imperfection, in slowly changing contexts, and nature’s rhythm. The cottage plays host to works sold by Magdalena Keck Gallery, offering a different context in which to experience the pieces. A pair of Morgan O’Hara drawings, a work by Larry Lee Webb, a Hiroshi Sugimoto seascape, and Michel Comte portrait of Sonia Braga are among the current occupants. Artworks, as well as some of the vintage furniture and custom designs, are for sale or available to order.
